Andrew Smith, MD of Bloom Infrastructure Ltd, is a distinguished leader in sustainability and healthcare innovation with over 18 years of global experience. As the former Global Sustainability Director, he managed a $140 million low carbon investment fund, successfully implementing over 20 clean energy projects across the UK, India, Spain, Poland, and Australia.
Andrew’s extensive background includes his role as Chief Commercial Officer at Grameen Trust, where he worked alongside Nobel Laureate Prof. Yunus, providing microhealth insurance to 6 million customers in Bangladesh. He also served as COO at Telenor Health, the largest health-tech company in Bangladesh, in partnership with Grameenphone.
Currently, Andrew leads Harbr, a medical technology investment incubator, as the Chief Executive Officer for Asia. Additionally, Andrew serves as a Board Director at AKS Healthcare, where he continues to drive advancements in medical technology and healthcare services.
Andrew has collaborated with esteemed organizations such as the World Health Organization, UK AID, and Johns Hopkins University. As an advisor and mentor, he supports high-potential startups in China, the UK, the US, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and Bangladesh, with Harbr’s portfolio including innovative companies like Vivan Therapeutics and Airdoc.
